Quernmore Recreation Club
A small friendly club for village residents. We have a multi-purpose court which is used for tennis, netball and football.
The bowling green is well used and we have 2 teams playing on Tuesday evenings and 2 on Wednesday evenings. A veterans’ team play on Thursday afternoons.
The Club House is used by the Women’s Institute for one off classes and other event committee evenings. In the winter months it is used for dominoes on Wednesday evenings.
If you would like to try bowling before you commit, on summer Sunday afternoons (weather permitting) we have a social game , so come along and give it a try, and finish with a cup of tea and biscuits.
Annual subscription is £30, Juniors (under 18) £5.
Quernmore Women's Institute
Quernmore WI is a friendly and vibrant group of enthusiastic ladies who meet in the Quernmore Chapel Sunday School room (and occasionally on Zoom) on the third Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm. Whether you’re interested in cooking, crafting or want to get active - we are here to inspire every member! For some, being a member of the WI is a chance to meet people and catch up with friends, for others it’s a way to learn valuable skills.
Here at Quernmore, we strive to provide as wide a variety of activities as we can. We plan to have speakers at most of our monthly meetings. Traditionally the July meeting is an outing (alternating between a day trip one year, and an evening event the next, so our members who work can participate). The May meeting is the Annual General Meeting, and the December meeting (often the second Tuesday in the month) is usually a Christmas party. We also arrange other activities which have ranged from zip wiring, pony trekking to local walks, workshops, trips to the cinema, theatre and meals out, in fact whatever you want we try to provide. We are sure you will find something to enjoy, challenge and inspire you.
